Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Jonathan has denied media reports that he is behind a the Niger Delta Avengers militant group.
Sahara Reporters had earlier said Jonathan, along with Rivers State government Nyesom Wike, and other prominent Nigerians are sponsoring the group, according to a faction of the group – the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers.
In a statement released on Sunday, Jonathan denied the claim calling it an “obvious fabrication.”
“We are not under any illusion that more accusations and allegations of this nature would not be hurled Jonathan’s way in the future. But we are very positive that he can never be fazed by such negative energy,” it added.
